In 1990, designer Gianfranco Ferré began to drive growth and development at Ricami Laura.
Not only did the Architect of Fashion give the little embroidery factory his own personal and indelible stamp; he also transformed it and even called Ricami Laura “my embroidery factory”.
The designer did not believe in obstacles in the creative process.
He maintained that everything could be embroidered; indeed, just as in constructing architecture, embroidery should be the base and the structure of the dress. It was no longer a question of "only" embroidering clothing but of "constructing" it through the use of embroidery.
This is how Ricami Laura became the place in which Ferré's inspiration took shape, where each stroke of his pen was replaced by embroidery material and applied to fabric to recreate that first effect and movement.
